History
Church of the Resurrection’s Heritage
The Church of the Resurrection began as a faith community on May 8, 1970, when Fr. Joseph Finnerty was commissioned by Bishop Leo Maher to come to Escondido to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ to the community of north Escondido. From Mass said in the humble beginnings of Fr. Finnerty’s garage, to the dedication of the current church in 1973, the Church of the Resurrection has been a community of faith welcoming all who entered its doors.
